Since 2015, we began our journey to provide the best Colombian coffee to your doorstep. What started as a hobby has quickly become a small business opportunity. Here at J&E Obsidian Coffee Company we focus on providing you the best quality cup of coffee to brighten your day!
Sebastian and Sarah Hoyos - Owner and Co-founders
Sebastian was born and raised in Medellín, Antioquia, and has owned the farm ever since his father passed away many years ago. Sebastian moved to the United States in 2004 and settled down in North Carolina. Sebastian met Sarah (his wife) in college and married soon after. We have two beautiful daughters, Sophia Elise and Sydnee Jade, in which the company is named after! It has always been Sebastian’s dream to grow delicious Colombian coffee on our farm, but even more so if we could let others enjoy it and help out our farmers and the town of Angostura, Antioquia.

Meet Alcides!
Alcides Agudelo has been with our family for almost 30 years. He is our right-hand man. Nothing could have been possible without his help. He has been essential in the process from the beginning and has been helping us grow our business from the ground up. We owe everything to him and his family. Our plan is to give back to the families that have always been with us and supporting our goals
Alcides has been an essential part of our business, and we will forever be thankful for his hard work. We would like to make sure future generations of coffee growers such as him are well compensated for their efforts to keep growing the best coffee, so you all can enjoy it.
We want to provide better living to coffee growers and pickers
5% of our profits will be donated to help coffee growers and families with school studies, provide better wages and to fight hunger in Colombia
